Pet JetSetter
PetJetsetter.com is the website of Atlanta-based Metzger's Designs to showcase their designer pet travel bag. I was hired to do a complete overhaul of their website. The client was disappointed with her old, simplistic website and hoped that a fresh look for the site would give her fledgling business a more professional look... and eventually generate more interest in her product.
I began by meeting with the client to understand her needs and expectations for her website. Then, based on our conversations, I made the initial design mock-up as an Adobe Photoshop PSD. My solution was a simple, yet elegant design that is easy to navigate. Once the concept mock-up was approved, I developed the website. I also coordinated with the client's hosting company and with a photography studio during the development process.
Since the client (who is not HTML-savvy) expressed a desire to make minor content changes on her own, I devised an innovative way to convert the site to a simple WordPress-based CMS. Once the website is in this system, the client will be able to make content edits quickly and easily. However, currently each page is still hand coded, because the client's hosting company does not support php.
The client was overjoyed by my results and proudly announced that merely days after the new site was uploaded, she generated her first sale in months.
